A little Noel....

Well, Friday afternoon, I came home from the dentist after having my back molar extracted, feeling very sad and sorry for myself!  So, what to do?  I know, take some strong painkillers, cuddle the cat, watch some trashy TV and get started on my Christmas Ornie SAL piece for June (Christmas animals/pets).

So, after a drowsy afternoon and evening - Voila!  Here is a little Noel piece,  with a sweet bird, nearly finished!

"Love Letters"

My own choice of overdyed threads (as I had none of the suggested ones  - lol)

So, fairly productive FF, I thought!

Serendipitous Jo's Twenty-Fifth Frolic of the Year

Last weekend was IHSW, International Hermit & Stitch Weekend, hosted by Joysze of Random Ramblings.

I made some fantastic progress on my Elizabeth Shephard sampler which has been my designated IHSW project for the last two years.  Here's where she was before the weekend:

And here she is now:

I stitched the rest of the swan motif, all the one to the left and some brown border!  There really is just one weekend of stitching left in her and then I get to choose another long term IHSW project.

It's not that ....

.... I don't Frolic every Friday,  I DO, it is just that I don't always get around to posting about it!

So, here I am again, THREE Friday Frolic updates behind again.  So, let's see if I can rectify that right now!

Friday 3rd June:

Trying to cast my mind back that far is hard - lol!  But looking back at my pics, I worked on my Snowy Russian Village, which I finished a day or two later.

This is a Ricoh Christmas Design and while you cannot see it in this image, the snow and roof tops sparkle with gold.

Further details can be found in this post, here.

Friday, 10th June:

Surprise, surprise, I started on a new SAL!  This is the gorgeous design for the Queen's 90th birthday gifted to the All Our Yesterday's FB group by the gorgeous Faye Whittaker herself.

This is my first progress pic during Friday evening.

... and then I kept working on it some more over the long weekend (Queen's Birthday - most apt!)

... and then a bit more during the week....

.... and then all of a sudden Friday rolled around again and by the next Friday I had abandoned the Queen for some Galahs!

Friday, 17th June:

This design is a gift from the lovely Jo, from Serendipitous Stitching,  sent to cheer me up as I happened to mention on a recent blog post that my daughter is moving to London soon for an indeterminate length of time.  It is a gorgeous design of Galahs, called aptly "What a Galah"

I am so enjoying stitching on this piece - thank you so much, dear Jo.

Also for FF, I finished knitting my Baby blanket and made three soft ornies

.

So, it was a very productive FF for me this week.  You can read more about these projects here.

Okay, enough from me for now - off to stitch with my friends, the Galahs,

hugs, Kaye

Prancing on a Friday!

Yee hah!! I not only remembered to photograph my Friday night stitching before I started stitching last night... but as you can see I have even managed to post today!  Will wonders never cease?! :o)

Last night I carried on stitching on Prancer.  He needs a little bit more love so that I can say I finally have a finish...

Here's what he looked like after I picked him up and stitched on Thursday night:

Then last night I finished off the Kreinik stitching at the bottom and then I started on the white part of the border:

The side part of the border I stitched twice as I was out by one thread.... so annoying.  I think the sparkle of the Kreinik and the sparkle of the thread made me miscount..... Hopefully I am in the right place now!

So that's last night's stitching progress.  I am probably going to work on him again today so that I can do his tail and then start the beading.

Til next time... whenever that may be
Happy Stitching!
Hugs xx

Finally something to show

I am showing a January project that I have just done and another X stitch I am nearly done with. Still have to get them into a finished project..

Serendipitous Jo's Twenty-Fourth Frolic of the Year

Last Friday was the second Friday of the month which means Christmas Stitching.  The theme on the Christmas Ornie SAL Blog is Animals or Pets this month which means only one thing - Reindeer!

Last month I stitched three of Daffycat's Reindeer and this month I stitched another three (there are nine so far).

You can see the previous three here and this week's three on this post:

Stocking Reindeer

Ribbon Reindeer

Star Reindeer

And if you pop over the Christmas Ornie SAL Blog you can see what I made them into.
